Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

At KBS Home Services, your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, app and services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

KBS Home Services (“KBS”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a Bengaluru-based home services provider (GSTIN 29LFGPS9162D1ZR). We are responsible for the personal information collected through our website and app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve our services:

  • Contact details: your name and mobile number, which you provide when booking or logging in.
  • Verification data: the one-time password (OTP) sent to your mobile/WhatsApp to verify your number. We do not store your OTP after verification.
  • Service address & location: the address, flat/house number, landmark and, if you choose to share it, your approximate map location (latitude/longitude) so our team can reach you. Sharing precise location is always optional and only happens with your permission.
  • Booking details: the services you select, preferred date and time slot, and notes related to your request.
  • Device & usage data: basic technical information such as browser type and interactions with our site, used to keep the platform working and secure.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To confirm, schedule, fulfil and follow up on your service bookings.
  • To verify your mobile number and secure your account.
  • To contact you about your booking, including reminders and updates via call or WhatsApp.
  • To provide quotations for inspection-based services and to apply offers or coupons.
  • To improve our services, respond to queries and resolve complaints.

4. Location Information

If you choose “Use my current location” or pin your address on the map, we use your device location with mapping services: Mappls/MapmyIndia for the map display and OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) to turn coordinates into an area name and to power address search, so we can identify your area and help our team locate you accurately. You can decline location access at any time and enter your address manually instead, and the service will still work.

5. Storage, Cookies & Analytics

To make the app convenient, some information, such as your saved addresses, selected area and login status, is stored locally on your own device (in your browser). This data stays on your device and is used to remember your preferences between visits.

We use a small number of analytics and measurement tools to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it: Google (to measure how well our ads and bookings perform) and Microsoft Clarity (which records anonymised usage such as clicks, scrolls and page views, with sensitive content like your phone number and anything you type automatically masked). Apart from these measurement tools, we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or track you across unrelated websites, and we never sell your data.

6. How We Share Information

We respect your data and do not sell it. We share information only as needed to deliver our services:

  • Our service team: the assigned professionals receive your name, contact number and address to perform the booked service.
  • Trusted service providers: we use WhatsApp/Meta to send OTPs and updates, and mapping providers (Mappls/MapmyIndia and OpenStreetMap) for location and address-search features. They process this data only to provide their function.
  • Legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation or a valid legal request.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, misuse or disclosure. While no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, we take appropriate care to safeguard the data you share with us.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and then we delete or anonymise it. Our standard retention periods are:

  • Booking & contact details (name, mobile number, service address and booking history): kept for as long as you remain our customer, so we can support warranties, repeat bookings, AMC renewals and resolve any dispute. If you have not used our services for 5 years, we delete or anonymise these details. You can request deletion sooner at any time.
  • Billing & tax records (invoices and payment references): kept for 8 years, as required by Indian tax and GST law.
  • Enquiries that did not lead to a booking (for example WhatsApp or contact-form messages): kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.
  • One-time passwords (OTPs): not stored after your number is verified.
  • Analytics & usage data: retained in anonymised form by our measurement tools (Google, Microsoft Clarity) according to their own retention settings.

You can ask us to delete your personal information sooner than these periods at any time (see “Your Choices & Rights” below). We will honour your request unless we are legally required to keep certain records, such as tax invoices.

9. Your Choices & Rights

When you book a service or verify your mobile number, you consent to us handling your information as described in this policy. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access & correction: view and update your name and saved addresses from your profile at any time, or ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Deletion: ask us to delete your personal information, which we will do unless we are required by law to keep certain records (such as tax invoices).
  • Withdraw consent: withdraw your consent or revoke location permission at any time through your device settings or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent may mean we are no longer able to provide some services.
  • Nominate: nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf if you are unable to do so.
  • Grievance redressal: raise any concern with our Grievance Officer (details below). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults who can book home services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version will always be available on this page, with the “Last updated” date shown above. Significant changes may also be communicated to you directly.

12. Grievance Officer & Contact

If you have any question about this Privacy Policy or how your data is handled, or any complaint or concern, you may contact our Grievance Officer. In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made thereunder and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we will acknowledge your request within a reasonable time and make sincere efforts to resolve it.
